Description
Half-day cultural tour along the Sillar Route, where master stonemasons ('alarifes') demonstrate the traditional techniques for quarrying sillar, the volcanic stone that defines Arequipa's architecture, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation.

Itinerary
- Pickup from your hotel in Arequipa and transfer to the Sillar Route.
- Visit to the Añashuayco Quarry, still in operation: the history of sillar, how it is quarried and traditionally used, and a look at the large-scale carvings on the canyon walls.
- Transfer to the Culebrillas Ravine, a quarry no longer in use, with an approx. 20-minute walk inside the small canyon shaped by water erosion, where you can see petroglyphs of llamas, suns, and snakes.
- Visit to the Apachetas before heading back.
- Return to Arequipa.
