Description

An overland tourist transfer from Chivay (Colca Valley) to Puno, with three scenic stops to see volcanoes, South American camelids, and high-Andean lagoons before arriving on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Itinerary

  1. Departure from Chivay heading to Puno.
  2. Stop at the 'Mirador de los Andes' (4,900 masl) to view the Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, and Mismi volcanoes, the Chila mountain range, and the apachetas.
  3. Stop at Patahuasi (Pampa Cañahuas), within the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, to see vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, sample hot herbal drinks (coca, chachacoma, muña), and shop for handicrafts.
  4. Stop at the 'Lagunillas' viewpoint, with a panoramic view of small lakes that mirror the sky and are home to Andean flamingos and other birds.
  5. Arrival in the city of Puno.
